At KVIS, assessment tries to:

Be diagnostic, valid, and reliable;

Be distinctive yet inclusive;

Use a variety of tools.

Provide feedback on students’ learning by evaluating their progress in relation to their learning objectives (and the evaluation standards unique to each subject).

Types of assessment-

Assessment is done (both formally and informally) to evaluate concept development, and remedial measures are then taken in accordance with the proper diagnosis.

We constantly work to perform assessments that are true, trustworthy, and educational.

Through a range of examinations and assessment instruments, students are routinely evaluated and coached both formally and informally.

Assessment Areas:

(A) Scholastic (English, Maths, Science, Global perspectives)

(B) Co- scholastic (Physical Education, Art, ICT, Music)

(C) Assessment of learner’s profile, Attitudes and Transdisciplinary Skills

Assessment pattern:

Scholastic Assessment includes-

• Formal Assessment:

Formal Assessment is a pen-and-paper exam given on a predetermined timetable, with the syllabus distributed to students a week before the exam.

• Informal Class Examinations:

Informal class tests are given utilizing a range of Assessment methods  to help students improve their subject-specific skills.

Co-scholastic Assessment includes-

Assessment of learner’s profile, Attitudes and Transdisciplinary Skills and other Co scholastic areas are based on observations which are –

  • often and at regular interval
  • of individuals, groups and whole class
  • in different contexts to increase validity.

Structured Examination-

  • Progression Test – Only English, Maths, Science, Global Perspectives
  • Semester Exam- English, Maths, Science, Global Perspectives, ICT, Music, Art, Physical
